Dear Mum and Dad,

I am in fact good, though my tummy is not the happiest right now – not that you want the details.  I also had a weird thing happen where last night it was hot so I decided to drink a whole bunch of very cold water on my empty stomach and my tummy just eliminated that almost immediately.  Erg.  But I have the sense that I will soon be on the mend and my spirits have remained very high!  Jon and I have been enjoying the details of Varanasi and some of the touristy/pilgrim stuff: yesterday we took an early morning boat ride that was just gorgeous!  Then this morning we arose early again to bathe in the river, as the pilgrims do, hoping to wash away our sins.  Between the bath cleaning out the outside (though the water’s not clean at all, and we promptly returned to shower at our guest house) and the stomach troubles, I feel like I’m getting cleaned inside and out.

Next on the itinerary is Rajasthan: beautiful and romantic.  I’m not entirely sure what to expect.  More soon, I’m sure

I love you both so much!  Am looking forward to seeing you and getting back to school.  I think my living situation with Mike will be great!  And the church internship should be really exciting too.

Be well! and see you very soon.
